What is some of your Pet Peeve's

My family lived in the same small area from the late 1600’s until the late 1990’s, when four generations passed inside just a decade, leaving only me, my mother, and a sister. The result is that hundreds of years of “things collected” funneled down to my sister and I… cleaning out a dozen properties and dealing with all the “stuff” was like drinking from a fire hose.

A lot was stolen by two unscrupulous relatives, potentially totaling high 6-figures. It only takes one or two.

But now I’m reaching an age where I could see eventually down-sizing, and like @iman with his dad’s stuff, I don’t think anyone is going to be interested in it. I remember the original owner of nearly every tool I grab in my shop, as they all came down to me from my father, grandfather, or great-grandfather. They were all still alive and using them, when I was young. But my kids have zero interest in such things.

My mothers cousin lived in a small apartment, we used to visit him all the time.
When he passed my mother wanted one item, the rest she thought we could get the rest of the cousins in to split up.
One of the cousins (the wealthiest) broke into the apartment a day or so after the funeral and took everything, including some of the fancy light fixtures. My mother fought with them for years to get her one item. They didn't care everyone knew it was them that stole everything.

My father, when he moved to the other coast never asked me or my brother if we wanted anything and all my grandfathers tools were gone and so were many of mine. I was traveling at the time so couldn't just stop in and get them).
He even had my brother send him all the childhood pictures so he could write on the backs and sort them. We searched his house and they are all gone. Only have a few pictures from my cousins from Christmas and such. Luckily my cousins actually call me to ask if I want something, no worries about them taking stuff.

Antiques have really lost their value because the younger generations don't care about them. My in-laws bought their home new in Lynchburg Va in 1932 for $3,400 and were friends with a woodworker at L.O. Moser (founded in 1915). They bought an entire mahogany dining room set which I have upstairs in the garage.
A museum was opened in Buena Vista, Colorado and I called them years ago and they sent me their original receipt in pencil for $700, paid in full...paid a few dollars/week.
A friend was a cabinet maker (rip) who I showed years ago and his wife paid LOT$ for just one chair.
I looked just now and the museum closed & liquidated two days ago! Now I have to wonder what will happen to all this beautiful furniture? And all the antique oak furniture at my homeplace? Loads of China dishware, antique clocks, etc.
I'll try finding an estate sale company.

I have a bunch of antiques.
One Sofa set is aboot 200+ years old and still in great shape with the original material. My mother bought it from an old man she used to clean for when he was going into a retirement home. It had been his Great Grandmother's wedding gift. He was 80 something at the time. That was close to 60 years ago by my memory.
At the height of the antique craze someone offered Ma $10K for it. At the time you could have easily bought 2 cars with that money.
I've tried to sell it now and can't even get a sniff. I even tried to give it to a local theatre company for their Shakespeare and period plays and they don't want it.
I'd hate to think my oak, walnut and mahogany furniture might end up in the dump while young people buy sawdust modern furniture.

aside from peeve's from a country viewpoint,
a lot of other stuff...the list is long (old traditional guy) So I slow down, maybe pull over to the side of the road and let the new age speed by. However i do keep the motor running.
