What is it with appliances these days?

We built our new house 4 years ago -- went with kitchenaid primarily but a kenmore fridge -- bought the repair plans and have used it just on the fridge so far.- more than once --- freezing up issues and ice maker replaced. plan paid for itself and still have 5 years to go on it. If I can get 15 years out of 'em, then replace with good ones -- the replacements should outlast me.....my warranty doesn't apply on earth...

Thanks. I think I will paint it. Clean up the rust on it and I bet this old fridge will tick along for awhile yet.

I'm gonna be building a shed soon and think I'll put it in there to keep some beer, sodas cold.

It's still keeping cold. I should be able to make a few new hinges out of some rod and pieces of steel plate I have.

I could weld a piece of the rod to the plate and then drill some holes in the plate to attach to the fridge.

I just put a bowl of apricots in the old fridge. A friend came over and told me that he had a few apricot trees in his yard and that I was welcome to as many of the apricots as I wanted.

My sister and I went over and bagged up a bunch of them. Got plenty for awhile. I like to put them in oatmeal.

My maytags are all still doing fine. I replaced the bulb in my freezer section of my fridge ( bottom freezer ) this year ( bought new as a scratch and dent in 2008 or 9 ). My electrolux washer had a repair man out to change the door seal when it started leaking and the dryer recieved a new moisture sensor, something got caught in between it and destroyed it. I found him updated part numbers and phoned him after I called electrolux so he could bring the right parts with him. He was happy. Me too. I replaced the main board in my panisonic plasma last year too ( lightning through the phone line, through the modem to the router to the ps3 to the tv ) I have since bonded the phone line, trenched cable to the house, and now have hi speed internet. Cable company wanted ten grand to do it. Paid for the backhoe...
