What are the reasons for NOT using Cruise Control?

We have one intersection in the downtown area of my nearest town that actually allows 'left turn on red'. It is the intersection of two one-way streets where left and straight are the predominate choices. From the far left lane you can make a left into the left lane of the cross street during a red light.

Here in Indiana, the only time you can left turn on red is if you are on a one way street and wanting to turn left onto another one way street going to your left.
