We have an LG Dehumidifier in our basement .... our dehumidifier stopped working...Well I had the Mrs. get out the owners manual where I always put the receipts and I checked the warranty ...It had a warranty of 5 yrs. on compressor and the whole unit...guess what the purchase date was on the receipt from Home Depot for $270 ...You guessed it was exactly 5 yrs. ago today..7/17/2005 so I called LG warranty service and just got finished emailing them a copy of my receipt and they are sending a replacement dehumidifier via UPS...Now how often do you get them on the last day of the warranty...Score one for me....I thought you folks would get a kick out of this since usually the product stops working the day after the warranty expires...I'm sure glad I hang on to receipts...I always staple them in the owners mauals. :)

Lucky Man and Woman! Good for you guys!!!

Oh I replaced my water pump on my Kubota and it had a six month warranty. Well, I was a day or two over the six months when it failed again. They would not honor the warranty. Win some lose some

Alright brin,

Now however, Mr. Murphy has you directly in his sights. Be afraid, be VERY afraid... :D

WayneB - That is what has always happened to me ..Seems like in the past I was always just a bit late and I have always beleived they know exactly how long to make the warranties before the product breaks down...This time I was blessed..

Great idea about stapling the receipts to the manual.

Took a VW in for repair to a local dealer. I bought the car before I moved to the current state I lived in.

The car was under warranty by 200 miles BUT the dealer could not get to the car that week. The following week (at that time) I was leaving the country and I had made arrangements with the dealer to work on the car the week I got back.

Brought the car back the week after coming back, and the dealer informed me that the car was now 150 miles over the warranty period, thus they could not cover the car under warranty (I know I still had to pay labor, but it was a bend over price on a replacement part for VW that was an OEM part).

After numerous phone calls to V.W and paying the parts bill, finally got my money back on the part, BUT that was the last time I ever will buy a VW.

I know for a fact that people have the authority in different industries to cover warranties depending how far out of the actual "out of warranty date" they are, the question is how willing are they to work with you on it.

I'd rather eat a warranty part that is "in a gray area" (sometimes it's not date of purchase, but date of install on the part) and keep a good customer happy than be a stickler and charge them for the part and perhaps tick them off down the road when they are ready to spend more money.
