Just as a point of reference, I have a JD 445 garden tractor with 54" deck.
I measured today, and in making a tight circle, the uncut inner circle was 6Feet in diameter, which suprised me. I thought it had a tight turning radius, but was suprised at how muct of an uncut circle it left..

I hear you, Dan. And, thanks for checking. When I test drove the 2305 with the 62mmm I was surprised to see it had a tighter uncut radius than my Simplicity Prestige!

Hope to go with the 2520 soon, but can't get my butt on one arround here to try.

Thanks for the info so far!

The 2520 with the 62D turning left has about an 83" uncut circle. If you turn right, it is about 94".

Hey TB,

First, thanks for measuring - I appreciate the feedback. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Second - Help me out here - I'm about to have heart failure! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Hopefully, we are talking apples and oranges with our measurements. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Please let me know how you made your measurments.

To clarify, what I mean by uncut circle is:

The smallest diameter patch of uncut grass remaining when you turn as sharp as possible through a full 360 degree turn.

As JDFanatic said for the 2210 (thus probably the 2305) it is around 3'. With the 2305 and the 2520 having turning radii within a couple inches of each other, I expected a smaller uncut circle. Did I miss something?? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks for your comments!

Yes, the uncut circle is what I measured. I think it works out close. The 2305's turning radius is 7.4' and the 2520's is 8.2'. That is a radius difference of .8'. I believe that is about 9.6". Since this is a radius you times the 9.6" by 2 and add to the 36" and you get 55.2". I still stand by my measurement, but I wish the grass was taller so I could more easily see the edges of the circle.

tb,

Not to make this obnoxiously contentious, but, can you make a mark on the ground and proceed straight out from it, immediately turning the wheel sharp? After the tractor has returned to a position 180 degrees from the start, you should be able to establish the uncut circle. Somehow, I expect it has to be less than the country mile you describe. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Please help enlighten us! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
