Uncut mowing circle for 2520 and 2305

Yep, talking about apples and oranges alright. One is talking about manufacturer's specs on turning circle of the tractor. One is talking about the uncut grass left in the circle. Obviously the uncut circle is going to be much smaller. It will also be smaller if you are running a bigger deck.

If I ever finish this project I'll go home and cut my grass, it should be tall enough to make answering this question easy.

It will likely be another week before that happens though so maybe someone will beat me to it.

OK-well some info for you, based on my 2520 with R4's and 62D deck. Uncut circle was appx 62" across with normal turn
Uncut circle was appx 50" across using the turning brakes--wouldn't suggest for normal use but you could get somewhere in between without tearing up the grass too bad.

I wondered why you were being so persistant. That is, I was until I looked at my original post. I'm not sure where my mind was at. For some reason both numbers were written 30 too high. They should be 53" and 64". Sorry about that.

I ordered the 2520 last week and am told I will have to wait until the end of July /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Pateince isn't my strong point. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Waiting is the hardest part. It probably won't make you feel any better, but mine was ordered Feb 2 and I didn't get it till May 15. Actually, I still don't have everything. The dealer still has to deliver the front blade and brackets.

I checked my 2520 with a 72" MMM and turning to the left, it left a circle of grass that was in the 58" - 60" range.

Just as a point of reference, I have a JD 445 garden tractor with 54" deck.
I measured today, and in making a tight circle, the uncut inner circle was 6Feet in diameter, which suprised me. I thought it had a tight turning radius, but was suprised at how muct of an uncut circle it left..

Dan - I have a 445 also, but with a 60" deck. I was thinking this uncut circle seemed kind of large for a 2wd machine. I checked mine doing a full turn to the left and wound up with an uncut circle of about 3 feet (didn't bring a tape measure so I just stepped it off). With a 54" deck the uncut circle should be roughly 4'. 6' is an awfully big circle for this machine, you might want to give your front end and steering gear a once over to verify that all is in order.
