TYM bought out Branson in what appears to be a very good financial choice. I am looking at TYM myself to upgrade my Massey.

Partially due to price but mostly because their (including the Branson line up) subcompacts and compacts meet the size vs weight amd HP ratings.

Des that mean the Branson dealer up town has to change all the decals on his? He has a line of them on display, all sizes.

I'm not sold on our local TYM franchise, I just don't trust them; that said, I'm a big fan of Hood Equipment in Turner, our legacy Branson dealer.

What models are you looking at? The Branson/TYM 2515h is probably my favorite machine in the lineup, but I love these high weight, low horsepower machines- a nice middle finger to the EPA.

If I had my choice, the nearest Branson Dealer would merge with the two closest TYM dealers. Effectively, the TYM dealers would become satellites of the Branson dealer.

The decals change as the old inventory sells and is replaced with new.

The way I see it, the move is good for everyone.

There is no guarantee that anything other than the top three or four brands will be around in 5-10 years...!

No guarantee of that either. A while back, IH was the #1 brand. Now they are a 3rd tier subsidiary of Fiat. Case was a minor player back then. Heck, Deere started off selling implements (plows, specifically). History is riddled with brands that folded up or got absorbed by others. Who knows, maybe 20 years from now, TYM will 'reintroduce' Branson (see Farmall). Maybe they will see the name (afterall, Branson was just a nameplate Kukje used for their tractors).

Indeed. And the “top 3 or 4” is very variable depending upon where in the world you are when you say it. But yes, generally speaking, in North America , you’re talking Kubotas, John Deere and CNH. Worldwide, Kubota is about #6 or #7 led by Mahindra, MF, JD, CNH, Sonalika & Escorts LTD. Just because we here in the US haven’t heard too much of them doesn’t mean they’re not popular in other areas😀

Big Tex has some of the old and new versions on the lot. Not just the stickers, changed the paint, too.
