When I bought my TX1300 a month ago none of the dash warning lights worked. Thanks to some of the replies on this forum I was able to finally fix them. I ended up removing the dash to get to the lights. Hardest part was removing the steering wheel with a puller. Once the wheel comes off you do need to remove the voltage regulator as well. It then slides up with plenty of room to get to the bulbs. It turned out my oil and generator light bulbs were blown. That fixed the generator bulb problem but the oil light would still not come on. It ended up being the oil pressure switch that screws into the block behind the oil filter. I was able to find one at NAPA for $10. The NAPA part number is OP6158. I found the bulbs on ebay for $1 a piece. They are BA9s base, 12V, 3watt. Just search for them and quite a few come up. I am assuming the water temperature light works, the bulb is fine and I have power at the switch.

I have included a few pictures for those of you interested. The guide wheel bracket on the tiller was bent pretty good when I got it. Looked like someone tied a chain to it and used to pull something. I brought it to a local metal fabrication shop and they were able to straighten it pretty good. I still need to install one of the actual wheels which is why it is missing in the pic.

If any of you have a tiller on your Iseki, which RPM do you usually use? My tractor has 3 different RPM speeds for the PTO.

I can't say for sure, but I would think the tiller should run at 540 rpm off the PTO. Mine gets pretty close to that in the lowest PTO setting at 2700 engine rpms. I can also get that speed in the middle PTO setting at 2008 engine rpm. I don't have a tiller, but I think you'd be best served with it in the lowest PTO setting at the higher engine rpm for something like a tiller.
Hopefully someone with the same tiller will chime in, there are some implements that need different input speeds.

I run my tiller always in highest pto speed. But i have to add that i always use the plough to open up the ground first. So maybe that makes things more easy to use highest speed.

Your tractor looks really good, almost everything original and in good state. Except the exhaust pipe (but going up is way better that the original, i would love to have that), and the oil pump for hydraulics looks a bit different. Thanks for sharing photo's.

Any luck with the air-filter?

thx
M.

I was just looking through the tiller manual and it says that the shaft RPM for 1st is 159, for 2nd is 253, and for 3rd is 396. I am assuming this is talking about the PTO selector on the tractor. My tractor does not have any gauges so I am assuming this is at full throttle?

Yesterday with the tractor in neutral I tried all three PTO speeds with the tiller. When I put it in the 3rd PTO speed I got this awful metallic banging sound coming from what sounded like underneath the tractor. It kind of sounded like a sheet metal sound. I only let it spin for a second. I tried it a couple more times and that sound instantly came back. With the PTO in 1 or 2 that sound was gone. I need to have someone look under the tractor while it is making this noise to see if something is loose, I hope it is not internal. It is almost like something is banging as a result of the tines spinning faster.

I have not found an reasonably priced air filters. Looks like I am going to have to spend some money and get what is available.

About the rpm: you can find all relevant info on tractor data.com. About the 1300:

TractorData.com Iseki TX13 tractor information

And yes it as at about full throttle.

About the banging sound: nothing to worry about. Just one of the 'tillers'/ blades on the tiller that will be a bit loose. Check check them and fasten whatever you find. It will not be internal. Don't forget to shut off the engine before checking them ;)

About the air filter: around here (europe) i can get them for something like 12 euro. Just saying this as a reference of what you can expect. Here is where i bought mine:

Hope this helps,

I tried my PTO again tonight. Bad news. The clanging noise is coming from inside the tractor. Sometimes when I take my foot of the clutch nothing happens, other times I get that clanging noise. I tried to wiggle the handle to see if maybe something was just not lining up but it did not seem to matter. PTO speeds 1 and 2 work perfect, nice and quiet. Looks like I will be using PTO speed 2 to till the garden. Ever have this end of the tractor open? Is there a cover that can be removed to look inside the rear end?

As far as the air filter goes, I called a US company today. They want $42(38 euro) plus $20 shipping!!! I see they are much cheaper in Europe but I cannot find any of those companies that will ship to the states. It seems to run just fine with the old air filter so I will continue to use it while I search for a cheaper one.

Got a cross for your air filter, Stens # 100-465. Amazon list just over $19 for it and if you go to Stens site, it'll give you a lot of the cross references that it covers. I've had my tx1500 4x4 split for input shaft on trans with coupler that had lost our broken roll pin. Brought like that for $1800 and spent $500 on parts and 2 hours time. Brinkley Hurst can get most parts since these will cross to Agco. My 4x4 is a White 17 field boss and a 2wd sold as a Bolens 1502. Both gear drive. A buddy of mine has a Bolens 2wd hydro. Have parts manuals for #'s if you need some. Hope this helps.1568682511248~2.jpeg

I tried my PTO again tonight. Bad news. The clanging noise is coming from inside the tractor.

Are you sure? Any chance you can make a 10 second video of this? Maybe people here will recognise the sound?

Also: test what is happening: Disconnect the tiller. Don't take it off, just remove the little piece between PTO and tiller (there is a pin on the side of tractor, press it, pull it away from tractor, put it sideways, and then pull to the other side).

Then run PTO while not driving. Try 3rd. Then disengage PTO, and try driving in third. I have a problem with my 2nd gear, this is how i found. The good news is that i can still fully use the tractor.

About the filter: if nothing else works: i have a spare lying around, send me your name and address in PM and i will send it to you, my treat.

thx
M.

I was going to disconnect the PTO shaft from the tiller and see what happens. Just ran out of time last night. I should be able to take a little video of what is happening, but it will not be until probably this weekend. I will also try driving it around in 3rd gear. Just to summarize what is happening: With the tractor idling in neutral and the tiller tines just above the ground, I depress the clutch and shift the PTO to 1. Release the clutch and the tines spin like they should. Depress the clutch and move PTO to 2, release clutch and tines spin like they should. Depress the clutch, move the PTO to 3, release the clutch and one of two things happens. Either nothing happens, the PTO shaft does not spin, or the PTO shaft does spin and a very loud metal clanking noise comes from under the seat. After a few seconds the PTO shaft stops spinning on its own. If I shift back to either PTO 1 or 2 everything works fine. Back to PTO 3 and it might turn with the clank, or it might do nothing.

Thank you for offering to send me an air filter. I will send you a PM.
