Tractors that were easier to repair for backyard mechanics

I'd vote for the old two cylinder JDs - the JDA and JDB - to be included. They are very simple and designed to be repaired by the farmer.

If a MF 35 cost $2529 back in 1963, in today's dollars, that would cost $21,306......would you buy a basic 35hp tractor for that?

I would say any tractor that does not have a computer. I have worked on a couple of JD 950s but there are a zillion other males and models that are just as simple

I would say almost any gas tractor from the 50-60's. They all have overhead valves, Points distributors that can easily be upgraded to electronic ignition and very basic carbs to work on. If you wrenched on older cars these tractors are very familiar. The ford 8n's even go to the point of the brakes being just like a set of drum brakes on car.

N series Fords.

Just look at how many of them are still working daily.
