Members: Purchased a Woods tooth bar for the 72' bucket on my 7040. Looks as if I'll have a welder shorten the length to fit inside my bucket (not custom made as others) I was thinking of having a few washers placed between the bar mount and bucket so debris could be removed to prevent rust etc. Or would you have it flush mounted? Your thoughts? just want to do it right (realize there should be some clearance anyway) thanks bb

Mine is an atc brand and fits in tight that way if you hit a tooth dise ways it dosent rack the whole assy.

the only thing I would do different bar has a slotted 1/2" hole for bolts and i drilled tward back of slot. If I would have drilled to front then I could just loosen bolts and flip over to use the straight blade

I like between an eighth and quarter inch clearance on both ends. Makes it easier to install and remove.
Once you add a couple thick washers, the tooth bar will be quite tight.
As Tommu56 wrote, if your mounting holes are slotted rather then just a round hole, drill and mount nearest the front of the slot so you can loosen, pivot up and tighten when you need to back drag.
I didn't...drilled my mounting holes aft and cannot pivot the bar. That was a mistake.

can anyone post pictures of this? I'm not sure I quite understand - probably because I'm new to this stuff.

I will be doing this soon, and want to get it right...

Thanks.
