It’ll be black dark at 5:30 here tomorrow and pretty much dark at 5:00.

In my opinion it never successfully fulfilled the reason for being. Stay with standard the world over and life would be easier for everyone. Don't mess with nature.

I'm still looking for the data that shows that daylight is actually saved with DST. I call it Daylight Losing Time because I'll lose an hour of daylight in the morning.
