Is a 72 in tiller too much of a load for a 7265? I'm traveling as slow as it will move in low range. I had tiller before purchasing 7265. After 30 minutes temp gauge gets to red. I have blown/washed radiator, installed new rad.cap and thermostat. I also checked for bubbles(compression) in rad of which it has none. Thanks,Jim

make sure the vents on side and bottom front are open also make sure you have a 50 50 mix in radiator.

Vents ahead of radiator are clean. Will it run any cooler without side shields in place? Thanks,Tx Jim

I have a 7265 and mine also heats up quickly with a tiller. I rent a JD tiller once in awhile that is between 6' and 6 1/2', I don't remember the exact dimension.

I wrote it off as a horsepower limitation. According to my spec. sheet, the 7265 only has 21 pto hp. I just go slow, start with shallow depths, keep 1/2 the tiller in already tilled soil, whatever I can do to keep the temp. from climbing. When the ground is hard, I till in reverse to make it bite and keep it from jumping. If I were to buy a tiller for it, it would be 60" or less.

Mike.

I have a KK 48" on my 7205. Runs great No heat problems after severe flogging. First pass on unbroken sod at half depth, second full depth. I would think a 72" is more for a 30-40HP machine. A 7265 should run a 60" no problem.

I don't know if you can get to where you can actually look through the fins of your radiator or not, but a lot of times the dust will build up inside the fines where you can't see it very easy. When it does this, it sometimes won't come out with just water from a hose. If you have a brass core radiator, you can spray cheap oven cleaner in the fins, let it set for 5 minutes or so before using the garden hose to wash it out. It is amazing how much dirt will come out by cleaning it this way. If you have an aluminum radiator core, I wouldn't use the oven cleaner

If the HP on the tractor is as Mike says, 6-7' tiller is way too much tiller IMO. My rule of thumb is 5HP/ft of tiller. Ground conditions will have big impact on power needed. Have a 3' tiller on my old Bolens GT(16HP) and a 4.5' tiller on the Yanmar (24HP) and my garden soil in the spring will place a large load on either tractor.
