That was my first thought, also. Yet the next post after the picture seems to be the right answer, pending confirmation.

I wonder why it didn't get shot down in Alaska or even in Canada, too high to get detected? too slow ? kind of weird to me.

***** wanted to shoot it down but the Generals talked him out of it "Due to danger for people on the ground". It was in Montana at the time which is an extremely sparsely populated state.

And it's about fricking time! I hope they recovered it and are able to study whatever technology it had along with what data it was collecting.

I heard an hour or two ago that they had recovered some of the wreckage.
