I get the cost/profit calculations, but seeing old equipment destroyed always hurts me a bit.

I'd have had to pull the engines if nothing else.

People collect and restore old combines. Don't know about Deere folks but the IH collectors group goes nuts over old IH combines. You probably could have sold them for way more than scrap value in their condition.

I bought a JD 95 back in 1990 time line. That's where I learned how to repair hydraulic cylinders of various designs. Real story behind that one. Then sold it and bought a MF 730 and another interesting story about that one. That one ended my thirst (?) for small grains farming.
