My TC18 has an inline fuel filter between the tank and the fuel valve.

I can't find that on any schematic, but I may not be looking in the right place. Is that normal??

I would say that isn't normal. I don't have one on my TC-24. I have just a hose that comes down from the fuel tank to the valve held at each end by clamps. I had to replace my valve a year or so ago because I broke the "ear" off and couldn't shut the fuel off to change the fuel filter. I ended up pulling the line off the fuel tank by accident. Man that sure made a mess :)

Thanks, Jim! I decided that it is an add-on, but I can't determine why someone would feel the need.

My valve is a current problem, in that it stuck closed a few days ago. I took it apart and got it to function until I can get a new one, but I can't imagine why it would stick like that.

I suppose I will leave the added filter there until I get around to changing out the hoses, etc. It really doesn't seem to be hurting anything.

An extra filter on a diesel won't hurt anything-until it plugs up. it probably somebody's "belt and suspenders' fix. My TD95D has a separate water separator and a fuel filter in the fuel delivery circuit.
