Starter for MH 55

I have an old 1956 MH55 that's been running quite well ever since I got it about 12 years ago.
The other day I went out to start it, and the starter would run, but not engage. Opened it up, and the pinion gear is broken. Not going anywhere without it.
Does anyone know of any source where I might be able to get one? I'd really like to get this thing going before winter, because I use it for snow removal, among other things.

If you have a local repair shop for starters and alternators they may be able to help wit either a new gear or more likely a new starter. That's how I solved my tractor starter problem.
