It is a 20 year lease.
My current utility rate is $0.155 per/kW, so yes the solar is approx. 2/3 the cost.
The battery backup is not part of the solar installation, the only part I have are generators and the new Yanmar L70 that I just purchased which I need to design a new mounting platform for due to the extended sump which hangs approx. 4” below the engine mounting feet.
I have acquired no other parts of the system. Hopefully I can get this together this summer.
I’m undecided on all other details.

My Solarcity system is up & running!
Wednesday it produced 40Kw and yesterday it produced 46kw.
My average daily use it 23kw so it's looking good.
The excess is being (banked) for the days of little or no sun.
So far I'm pleased!
My current utility rate is $0.17 per/kw versus 0.103 for the solar:)

Hi! We may need to talk with you...we are thinking about a solar system as we go to build on our acreage, the electric cooperative May charge a thunderingly high amount to bring in poles etc due to our location, so much so that installing solar from get go might be Cheaper. What are the specs of your system and it's financing?

Welcome to TBN Toni.

To get you started in the right direction, you need to ask about off-grid solar systems. 90cummins has a grid-tied system--he is connected to the electric utility.

The two types of systems have very different costs, design goals and hardware.

Thanks and we are glad to meet you :). We are very new to all of this and we will probably be actually buying a tractor! It would seem that I have quite a bit to learn... But I love the idea of at least being grid toed with solar if not the whole solar enchilada.

Thanks so much! I will study on this (ok, really, Jack will...) we are excited about all of our projects with the 8 acres we just bought, I think I am /Lisa Douglas/. Faint but pursuing...

Solarcity update!
My system went online June 18th and as of this morning it has covered my usage.
As of today I have 400kw's (17 days) in the bank so-to speak for use on non-productive days.
I received my first Solarcity bill of $65 but no National Grid charges.
I'm very pleased that it's performing as planned and would recommend it to anyone.
Time will tell, looking forward to the first year of generation to see if it meets the guaranteed expectations..

Our electric cost are so low that any type of solar or wind powered generation is unnecessary. Currently electricity costs 5.5 cents per Kw hour. The longest power outage in the 32 years I've been here was a little less than 8 hours. We have a fantastic co-op electric utility here. It is one of very few companies that truly is a service to its members.
