I have a Kubota L3010, an after plowing with a rear blade last year, and having to use the ft. bucket in a really deep snowfall, I think I want to spring for a Kubota brand ft. blade. Yes, I've looked at the Curtis loader arm ft. blade attachments and I'm just not sure I want to take a chance twisting the arms. I've done some corresponding with Jonathan at Carver's equipment, but as he stated, they don't stock snow blades and he hasn't seen one- can't fault him for that, given his location /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I really want to see one in person before I spend my money, though, does anyone on this forum have one that they could provide some picture of, or know of a dealer in new England that sells and stocks these? I need to know if the main loader subframe has to be unbolted from the tractor, or does the "Quick attach" plow subframe just bolt to that? By the way, if anyone is contemplating dealing with Carvers, they responded to my e-mail quite quickly and with a very fair price, I thought, compared to my local dealers.

I have been looking also to add just a blade. So far nothing. I'm thinking of building ome. Maybe there is a market for this item. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a 71/2 foot Curtis hydraulic plow that replaces the bucket for winter. No stiff neck and all that you ever needed to get snow out of the way.

Can't help you with the orange version, but I LOVE my yellow front snow blade with 4-way hydraulics. If you are plowing concrete or asphault, you will wonder why you didn't have it in the first place. I'm sure the Kubota model is solid. Add on a homemade squeegee for the best results on paved surfaces. A front blade makes plowing with a tractor FUN /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Where are you located in CT. Did you know Curtis is in Worcester, MA. The blade attaches to you loader arms. Just remove the bucket and install the blade. I have sold and installed a few of them but that was a number of years ago. Excellent unit I would highly recommend. Unless they now have some new units (which they may) they come as a kit and require some welding to complete.

The Curtis plows have a safety trip edge to avoid damage to loader arms and tractor. Plus you'll be able to stack the snow REALLY high with a blade on you loader!

Chipperman, I live in the Plainfield area, and no I didn't know Curtis was in Worcester. The only two reservations I have about the Curtis setup are the potential side loads on the loader arms from hitting unseen obstacles in the snow /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, and I'm also trying to save a little money /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif in the process. I just happened to pick up a used Myers 7 1/2 ft. plow for $50, and I finally got a parts diagram from Kubota for their subframe assy., with that I hope to assemble a hybrid ft. snow/ dirt blade unit with the aid of my MIG and some 2x3 steel tubing.( Of course the Curtis unit would be a lot quicker and easier to install, but sometimes I just feel cheap). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This may be a dumb question, but why would the slow plow blade hitting something be any worse than the loader bucket hitting something? They would be attached at the same locations wouldn't they? Or am I just not thinking clearly (could be the wine from dinner).

I'm trying to save also. Going to look at a 6 1/2' plow on Sunday. I'm going to build a subframe on my new 204 nortrac once it gets here. How difficult is the subframe anyway?
