Snow and Water

Hey Guys,

Taking a down day and catch our breath while we get dumped on with snow.

We have major flooding in our area, we have only one east west road not under water yet and no north south roads that don't have a section closed. The water here is higher than I've seen in 30+ years.

Our little township is going underwater, some rural places are holding their own, we are on high ground and doing fine on our place.

We have more snow coming on Monday also, if the ice dams break up we'll get some good drainage going and all will be fine for the most part.

Tomorrow we will blow out our place and go back on road patrol marking and checking out the bad spots. So far so good, we had a ice storm hit but not high enough winds to break any wires to our place, about 7 miles north they loss power until about 4am.

You guys take care, as for the post what's in your Garden it's all snow right now.

went to the big town of Fargo today for a Dr appt took 2 1/2 hours as the interstate was closed down had to detour 20 miles south and back up added about 1 1/4 hrs to the trip
its a mess all over most section roads are closed in the county where I live they have shut down all county and township roads you get stuck they can charge you to retrieve you buttt
you should see a big cat slide on a clay dike with 7 inches of new wet snow on it
those guys should be getting extra pay for the pucker power for sure

Thumper, so sorry to hear that you are taking such a beating from the weather. It kinda puts our little cold-snap into perspective. I hope you've been able to maintain power, but the fact that you haven't posted in several days makes me worry. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

We've been running like crazy here, our jeep had so much ice and mud the suspension quit working and had to take it to a car wash, $10 later to get it all out.

If we loose power we are ok I've got a good generator. Just burnt out come evening driving all day. The water is down a bit here, the cold is helping a lot.

Then we will have to start taking photos for FEMA to get all our roads fixed. I did get to play on the New Holland today moving a bit of snow getting ready for the thaw.

We are on high ground so we are ok here. We'll have another bout in a week are so when we warm up again, we had a lot of melting but that last blizzard dumped another 12" on us.
