The wooden hitch test thing was more of a test of improperly glued joints on lower quality wood using a poorly designed plan. That it held as long as it did is surprising considering that everything that could have been done wrong was done wrong. Darwin was watching on that test.

I agree. When I see a truck like this, all it says to me is "an idiot owns this truck".

Kind of useless to own a truck like that. Big bad diesel and then he derates it’s capacities with spacers, lifts, etc.

I've actually found that most that do that dumb stuff seem to think there are tons of research and testing go into those aftermarket parts and they either are not affecting the capacity or are increasing capacity with better than OEM stuff...
