I have an S-470D 3 cyl diesel, that starting loosing power. It ran for 30 - 40 minutes and then just died. I waited a few minutes and then hit the starter. Started up, ran for about 6 ft and then died again. It started for the 3rd time and then, just barely managed to creep back to the house and died again. I replaced the fuel filter and blew out/cleaned the air filter. It will crank over, but not start. I hit it with a couple shots of starting fluid and it almost acted as if it wanted to start. Had just a little black smoke coming from the muffler. I removed the three lines from the top of the fuel pump. Cranked the engine and had diesel sputtering from the two out side lines. Nothing was coming out of the center. There was very little volume with injecting force coming from the two outside lines. Is it possible to have the center plugged; or is my fuel pump defective? Any help will be appreciated.

It’s possible for 1 cyl in the inj pump to be stuck..
But if ur not getting equal amounts of fuel from the other 2, u might have a fuel SUPPLY issue TO THE INJ PUMP.??
Are u trying to start it with the throttle wide open.??
U need to..
If its not getting any better, it’s probably time to pull the pump..
Do yourself A HUGE FAVOR and do not try to remove anything off the pump while it’s still on the engine.. u can ruin the pump..

I did remove the fuel lines from the top of the pump. When cranking the engine at full throttle, I can see the drops coming from the pump.
There is no hard squirt from any of the pump holes. Every time there is a drop about an inch high that comes up. There is no pressure or force behind the drops, but the two that do emit fuel both have the same pressure. If needed, do you have any suggestions for where and how can I get it rebuilt? I live outside of Caldwell, ID where there are no Satoh dealers

FYI, thepumpguysc is highly recommended by Yanmar, Kubota, Mitsubishi, Satoh and Shibaura Japan made tractor brands.

One thing we recently discovered on another forum was, the hard fuel lines can clog up if the tractor has sat long. Microbes are evil to diesel fuel.
