Did someone say ROPS? WOW what a deal, especially if you live in Northern CA! A ROPS normally costs almost $1,000. Get all these for $500 in the bundle.
Mount the one that fits your machine and sell the rest off! :2cents:

Tractor, ROPS, pallet - farm & garden - by owner - sale

That's Raffi ! Tractor scrapyard in Portland Oregon region. He always has an ad running on Portland CL listing the tractors he's parting out. He's a good guy, that's where I got the replacement axle assembly for the YM240.

He wouldn't have ordered those new. I wonder if that rusty pile is Tractor Ernie's old stock (he was a neighbor) that has been passed around among other importers in the decade since Ernie shut down.

Hope someone grabs those!! I might consider it...but it's kind of a niche market. I think all of them sold now a days have one. Even if it's not a certified one, I bet 90% of people don't realize this and don't know what that means and the. Most of the ones that do probably don't care. I my a small percentage of people would be in the market for those. And most people would be the new owners of green or red YMs that never came with one or don't have one.

All I know is, when I had my JD850, the previous original owner tossed the OE ROPS. Go figure. I love my ROPS and there are times it's help in odd things for both protection and for allowing a shade umbrella to keep the hot sun off my seat time.

Hilly ground, auguring out holes for fence posts, keeping tree limbs from whacking the head, are all needs of a ROPS. It's not just for roll over protection, it's more than just that.

No guarantee those are all for Yanmars. Buck (EFC), another importer in the region who went to Japan to select his own imports, once posted that he sold both Jinmas and YM's until he had enough experience with both to compare them. He said restoring the Yanmars to salable condition took less hours than he was expending setting up the Jinmas and then doing their needed warranty work. After two Jinma rollover deaths he quit selling that line, vs no injuries on his Yanmars.

So those could be a mix including Jinma ROPS if this happens to be EFC's leftovers from long ago. Or maybe anything, if they came from a nondenominational dealer.

I can see buying that lot, if you have a YM2010. (as written on one). But reselling the unwanted ones might have considerable legal liability. I don't see a manufacturer's certification tag on any of them.

I doubt it. Ernie bought Fredricks ROPS. Fredricks ROPS aren't made like these. I can tell by where the two parts come together. they have two bolts there. They also don't appear to be powered coated like fredricks ROPS

bmavrick has a Fredricks ROPS I can tell by the pic

They may not be perfect or meet any standard, but they should stop the old tractor rolling over me. I made mine using a scaffold pole, cut and welded. About two days work, but hey.... Tractor roll frame.jpg

Nice work. I do know that scaffodling pipes are about the same gauge as those coral panels on farms. A storm came thru my old place, blew them over and 2 of them just folded and twisted. These were setup in the typical ring for livestock use. Took lots of pounding and reshaping to get them usable again.

With ROPs, there is a big reason why the top corners need those large radii. Added strength. Is it possible to add another horizontal bar above the top of the seat? This could really help the ROPs from bowing out or in during or after a roll-over.
