Kubota Tractor Loader L3560 HST+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3,700 pounds bare tractor, 5,400 pounds operating weight, 37 horsepower
I was perusing RK tractors at the Rural King in Gainesville, Florida this week.

To me the volume capacity of FEL buckets seems somewhat limited relative to generous FEL lift capacity, especially for the RK74.

RK74 ******3,223 pounds FEL lift *****13.8 cubic feet

RK55 ******2,478 pounds FEL lift *****11.2 cubic feet

RK37 ******2,116 pounds FEL lift *****10.4 cubic feet

RK24 ********947 pounds FEL lift ***** not available

I have been unable to open the SPECIFIECATIONS page on RK's web site for almost two weeks.

Data above from RK catalog in Gainesville store.

The density of what you are lifting is a big factor though.

A bucket full of dry loose dirt will weigh less than a bucketful of packed clay.

I remember thinking the RK buckets seemed a bit undersized, when I looked at them last Spring.

Different size buckets can be bought, buy what ever size bucket you want!

"buy whatever size bucket you want"

I really don't think it works that way with RK tractors.
They seem to be sold at a particular price point, and with whatever size bucket RK orders them shipped in with.

Or any tractor. Sure if it’s SSQA equipped you can just buy another bucket but they’re not cheap.

Tractor and loader specs are in the pdf files for each machine.

First off, I'm not sure how they rate volume capacity - is that in water, dry sand, 2" crushed...???

Regardless, those lift capacities seem optimistic if you are transporting, say - gold. 13.8 CF = 16,670#.

Even common lead comes out to 9,757#.

Seems like the bucket is way oversized or the infrastructure is merely hopeful.

I’m not sure what that point of that comparison is. Liquid concrete is the heaviest thing you’d ever realistically put in the bucket at 150 pounds per cf. Crushed stone or dirt is probably half that much. Whenever I decide to move liquid concrete or lead bars I’d rather have to take less than a full bucket vs being handicapped all the time to move lighter materials. You couldn’t move a full bucket of concrete anyway for spilling. Moving lead bars, gold bars or even steel or iron bars would be an absurd calculation to design the bucket to.
