Replacing Woods RM 990 Spindle Bearings

I had the center spindle lock up on my RM990 a week ago. At first I was going to just replace the whole thing until I found out the price. $390.00. I decided to just replace the bearings. Things were moving along quite well until I tried to remove the spindle from the Spindle housing. I put an 8" wheel puller on it, heated the bushing without even budging it. Would really appreciate comments from any of you who have had this experience.

Wash the spindle in a good parts cleaner or brake clean. Then look closely for internal snap rings or other retainers. I have found that a press is handier than a puller... KennyV

Thanks for the advise. I have arranged to take the spindle to the local Kubota dealer and have them press it out.

Got the spindle pressed out and rebuilt. The RM 990 is purring like a baby kitten.
