Union Pacific’s Super Bowl special, a 29-car train using its business train equipment, headed west on Saturday from Council Bluffs and Omaha for Los Angeles, the site of Super Bowl LVI between Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Rams. The game is set for Sunday, Feb. 13.

I like it. Reminds me of my area. I just wished the trains still ran on all the rails. Not like 1/2 of them.

Union Pacific’s Super Bowl special, a 29-car train using its business train equipment, headed west on Saturday from Council Bluffs and Omaha for Los Angeles, the site of Super Bowl LVI between Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Rams. The game is set for Sunday, Feb. 13.

Interesting, They are usually pulled by one or a pair of Warbonnets.

A working CSX engineer's private drone shots show hosteling and both type engine houses, including a working turntable and in-use roundhouse ~ midway in the video.

Fans of large scale modeling and/or steam era British rail may like this video. Six coupled, Mogul, Prairie, Pacific, Consolidation, & Mikado types shown in action. (Whyte notation) Scenery and o'all detail are impressive, including working semaphores.

Found this photo of a long abandoned turntable foundation in Wawa, PA only about 8 miles from me.
I swear I cant find it on a map.

Heres the caption that went with the photo.

Imagine having a time machine there, going back in time watching it being used, when it was abandoned, etc.
A metal detector used there may be interesting.

Amazing find, Bruce. Is that “Hagley“ as in the “Hagley Museum”? I live a short drive/long walk from that museum.

The turn table doesnt make sense. Theres a recently reactivated passenger rail line (unused since ‘90) and the defunct Wawa to Chadds Ford RR line, washed out by Agnes in ‘72.
Why would there be a turntable where only 2 RR tracks converged?
