Purchased XG3041 - LS Audit?

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking these forums for a few months now and taking in as much info as possible for purchasing my first tractor. Thanks to all that have contributed to the wealth of knowledge here!

I ended up purchasing an LS XG3041 TLB from a local dealer here. I made the purchase about a month ago and supposedly the tractor was put on order shortly thereafter. As of today, I still have yet to see the tractor. At first the dealer said they were looking for a truck to ship it on. Since he did not have one on the lot, he said it might take a little while to fill the truck and get it headed this way. Then he said there was an internal LS audit going on at the factory and they could not ship any tractors until the audit was complete; but he said he could probably have the tractor to me today or tomorrow. I called again tonight and found out the audit is still occurring and there is no ETA on the shipment of the tractor.

The dealer I'm working with has been a pleasure to deal with other than this shipment issue. He has been very responsive and I have no reason to believe he's giving me the run around. That being said, has anyone else had a delay receiving their new tractor or heard of this audit that is taking place?

Our local LS guy told me the other day they've had a real slow down in getting stuff up out of North Carolina. He sounded only mildly upset about it. It's not uncommon for assembly plants to work like crazy right up to Christmas and then shut down until Jan 8th and start back up which results in a bit of a backlog.

They were shut down for a few days the other week from the snow storm that went up the east coast. You have to remember the southern states can't handle the snow and ice like the northern states. They just shut down until it's cleaned up.

They were definitely going through something end of Dec/first week of January, otherwise I would have had my tractor sooner.

I'd hope they would have worked through it by now, it was a year end inventory of the factory I was told.

Not for sure this is correct, but I think some dealers do not want to just have one tractor shipped to them because of the freight charges, but instead wait until they can order several tractors at a time in order to cut down on the shipping charges. Your dealer may be doing this and blaming it on others....
