It is curious that equipment sales concerns, such as the Bobcat Company, are not more competent in their product presentation. The Bobcat official web site still doesn't show a picture of the D-Series or even acknowledge its existence. I have spoken to dealers and the factory and found them to be sincere and responsive, but I remain hungry for details needed to make a purchase decision. This is a major investment, and it seems we are getting a better picture from panther1400, who has nothing to gain, than from those who have everything to gain.

I agree with you except about the dealers. Back when we were talking about buying one and how much they cost, some guys were getting quotes 7K-9K more. Then there was a big discussion about how much a dealer "should" make on one, bottom line is, my dealer asked me to remove the infomation I posted about what a fair deal is, he also said that Bobcat might be contacting me about it. Makes me worry about what to say when the dealers or salesmen on this site don't like not being able to gouge customers so they call Bobcat to get a good and fair dealer in trouble and try to make sure others don't know. People wouldn't be willing to drive hundreds of miles if there wasn't alot of difference in price. Hopefully I don't get in trouble for these comments!

OK I'm done now no more about prices, just info on the new D-series.
Rides great, very easy to use, I will take some more pics let me know what you want.

I wondered as I read the pricing discussions. I didn't see it mentioned that Bobcat dealers have protected territories and if dealer 'A' sells into dealer 'B's territory then dealer 'A' may be required to compensate dealer 'B'. Sounds like maybe that was brought to Bobcat's attention.

There is a lot of discussion on this board about selecting a dealer as part of your purchase decision. I agree with that but haven't seen where that is an option with Bobcat. I'm sure Bobcat would say the dealers are all trained and staffed the same and each dealer can handle the needs of it's customers. I know first hand they are not. It's unfortunate, if you do not like your dealer you either live with it or buy something else.

panther - thank you for all the information you posted.

looks like minor but ergonomic improvements in the cab.

panther - did you ever use the c model? curious on the differences in ride quality. the financing offer is going to be up before my dealer (or any other) has a dealer stock model to demo.

thx again

Rode in a C at dealer yard, I thought it rode almost like my skid loader at low speed, the D rides good enough that there is no need for a spring seat, that is my opinion. In my mind it rides similar to my 1 ton truck, pretty good overall big bumps and potholes move the whole machine.

Those whose dealer of choice is next door are very lucky indeed. It doesn't surprise me that people try to maximize their profit in today's world, but even where money is the be-all and end-all, I believe fairness is a more sustaining business plan.

Panther1400, I bet it will be easy to clean that mower and change the blades. Is it too early to drive it on the lawn to see if you can mow without making a mark? The Bobcat site calls the 90" mower a rough cut, but I hear it works well as a finish mower.

If it takes more than a week for the lawn to get fit I will be antsy by then to try it out.

Panther1400,

Did you get the optional center wheel with that mower? I wish my 72" had that option.
