I just started looking at the 3120 with a 300cx. The dealer has a couple rental returns with 50-100 hrs, no loader during the rental. He's telling me they sell for $19,250. with the 300cx. What could I expect to get him to on a rental return?

I bought a 3320 with a 300X loader and 36 hours for $17,500 a year ago October. Hope that helps. Location was central IL.

I'd stop right there. I'm not so sure I'd be up for a rental unit - I gurantee you those 50-100 hours were HARD hours.

Just my initial take I guess - I don't know all the details.

The 3120 with 300CX loader is $21,009 per the JD configurator. If you got 10% off list (you can probably do better) you're at $18,900. Take the 0% financing and the full warranty and the 0 hours.

Let's say you even get him down to $17,500 on the used unit - you're better off buying new whether you are financing for 3 years (you don't have the cash) or paying cash. If you have the cash, keep your money in the bank and invest it in short term CD's at 5% while keeping enough liquid to make the monthly payments over 3 years. You would make up the $1,400 difference between the new unit and the used unit in short order.

Just my $.02 - good luck!

dont they add about $800 for insurance in case of theft/loss on that new tractor when its financed 0% down/0 interest for 3 years? still, I agree with buying new with those terms.

Nope - not if it's covered already. My 2305 is fully covered under my homeowners policy.

thats interesting.
did you have to pay extra within your homeowners to cover it?
in my case my tractor is stored and used solely on separate property that I dont have insured yet so I doubt my homeowners would have covered it,

The 3120 sounds a little high to me too. I would recommend buying new. I bought a new 3320 which is a few more hp for not a lot extra. I have the 3320, e-hydro, I-match hitch, 300CX loader, heavy duty bucket, R4 tires, grill guard, rear lights and automotive style cruise control. I paid $18,900 for everything. The free financing has no hidden charges. You take whatever you borrow, divide by 36 and you have your monthly payment.

Note: make sure you get the heavy duty bucket, it is really built a lot heavier than the standard bucket.

Nope - nothing extra. It is stored and used on my homestead though, which is the insured property.

Seems high for a rental unit...we sell new 3120's with 300X loaders for less than that.

gamble77,
does the Deere financing program require some form of insurance for the tractor if there is nothing down/0% interest or is that simply an option that can be turned down?
