Poor rabbit got decapitated

My guess as well.

We have a cat we adopted 10 years ago (as a stray). Turns out he's a hunter. We call him Carrot Top (orange cat), I've recently started calling him Manson.

He's got a sick desire to catch a rabbit, drag it into the house through his flapper door.... carry it into the bathroom shower and traumatize the poor rabbit.

Came into bathroom one morning and there was Manson, next to the headless rabbit....head laying on the floor.... and Manson was munching away at the neck muscles...

I didn't need to see that at 5:00 in the morning. Not to mention, clean it up.

Ole "Manson" would be sleeping outside from now on, if he lived at my house.

What, you say?? You don't like rabbit with your morning coffee & hot shower? I tried bringing one of our cats inside to give it a bath - the cuts & gashes were still healing two weeks later. They all slept in the log cabin and had a dish of cat food for the lean days. I gave them water in the winter because the little lake froze over. It was a good life for a cat but they slowly but surely went the way of the coyote.

I'll vote for the owl who I am sure swooped into my chicken yard, 7' high wire, buried around the circumference, and did the very same thing to our pet rabbit. Only an owl or a hawk would have the ability to kill in this way. Hawk will carry away their prey, owls may too, but our rabbit's head was detached from the body, and both parts were still lying in the yard. A quick, entrails midnight snack...

I've seen a couple of dogs after they got hold of a rabbit. - pulled the head off and running off. It was a young girl's white bunny at this camp I worked at one year. They jumped into the nature cabin through the open window. Killed a guinea pig and jumped out with the bunny. I saw them running through the field with the headless carcass.

Yep, my little cat has killed several rabbits that were as big or bigger than she is. She always gnaws the head off, or nearly off, then drags it up on the porch as a "gift" to us. Freaks my wife out.

I found one yesterday in the garden without a head, I think it was the hollow point from 25ft that caused it, lil bugger was having a buffet on our veggies.
