there are only three tractors on the local lot and this is what the lugs look like on one of them:

That's pretty sad if it's what you and I think it is. My first thought was, That's funny. Then sad. And now I'm thinking how little the young generation knows.

Oh, NM. Those units come in shipping containers or something I guess and have to be assembled. I'm used to seeing them come in on a trailer and assembled completely at my dealership.

Yep, dealer assembly. The tractors get shipped in crates and the dealer assembles most of the tractor including wheels/tires and accessories.
