Parts for TYM (legacy Branson) tractors?

Wondering if there are any good online sources for parts for TYM (legacy Branson) tractors. I've not found a thing for my new 4820.

My dealer is in a small town 75 files from here, and they still sell parts like it is 1985 - call them on the phone, tell them what you want, and give them your credit card number. They'll put in an order. Maybe.

No problem, I'll just order from my normal online sources: NAPA, O'Reilly and Amazon. Uh oh. They don't have squat for the legacy Bransons (and you can't even enter those into your list of vehicles).

To be clear, I'm just looking for common maintenance items such as filters and fluids.

Im pretty sure some dealers have the OEM filters listed on Ebay. For the fluids your best bet is local sources as the shipping would be excessive and its not like you need to run TYM brand fluids. Personally I like Shell / Rotella.

You should have no problems getting parts from your Branson 4820 as it is still in production as the TYM 4820/5520. For the engine oil filter you can use a Napa FIL1626/Wix 51626. I don't have any for the HST and Hydraulic filters you have extra. Legacy Tractors in Colorado offers packages online. Or contact Smiths Enterprices in NC or Jordan Sales in Post Falls ID. They have the largest inventory of consumer parts.

Thanks for the replies. I've looked at Fleabay and found a few things. I'm a little leery of that site, but might go there in a pinch.

I've been surprised at

• how limited the online options are for TYM
• very high price of the few things I've found

Maybe it'll get better over time...

Oh, here's another question: Do the HST and geared tractors use the same hydraulic/trans filter?

HST and Geared tractors share the same hydraulic pump suction filter (the big long one), which should be kept the OEM filter as some of the aftermarket one are known to cause starvation.

However the HST, does have another extra filter for the hydrostatic pump and motor.

I did end up placing an order for a half dozen filters through an often-recommended TYM dealer in AL. I contacted him first by email and then followed up with my credit card number by phone.

A few downsides:

1. No breakdown of the parts and prices at time of order. I provided a list of the items I wanted to order and in return was quoted the total price.

2. No confirmation of what had been ordered or even that the order had been placed.

3. No tracking information. I was ready to call and ask for a tracking number the day the parts arrived (12 days after placing order).

4. $25 for shipping.

The above would have been typical before Al Gore took the initiative in creating the Internet, but by today's standards, this was a poor buying experience.

I'm not losing any sleep over this, and just offer it as FYI, but I am surprised that nobody has set up a decent web page where you can search for and select what you want, add them to a shopping cart, etc, etc. I imagine that the first well-done online source for TYM parts would clean up.

The TYM parts network is closed to the public. If you look up the part number, and contact TYM, through TYM World, they will refer you to the closest dealer. TYM requires that a dealer order the parts, and then TYM will either ship to the dealer, or the dealer can request they drop ship them to you. There is nothing set up which is customer/owner centered. Typically when TYM ships, they might or might not include paperwork in the box with the order.

I was told by a dealer, if the parts you need are not in stock in the US, they will be held in Korea until they have a container to ship. So, if it needs to come from Korea, you may have a long wait. Which is very frustrating to both of the dealers I work with. Hard to maintain a good customer relationship, when you can't tell them when the part needed for their tractor will get in so they can make the repair. If they really want to penetrate the market, they need to address this. Dealers are loosing sales over the issue.

And, I'm surprised that Jordan or one of the larger dealers with a reputation for having things in stock, haven't seized the opportunity to establish an online parts storefront.

I don't think most mfgs allow just anyone to sell their parts. Usually a bona fide dealer.

If you're a dealer of a brand, you don't want the local Walmart selling parts. The margins are too thin to have them available just anywhere.

That said, one or two of the bigger dealers could probably set up a website.

Personally, I like to foster the relationship with my 'local' dealer.

Btw Varner Parts in Colorado is an authorized dealer with a pretty good E-Commerce set up.
Though I don't have any experience with them.
