Yes and I have been taking fish oil. My dad died of prostate cancer.

soundguy it's not only on fox. I just read about it on yahoo news headline i'm sure that has scared a lot of people, I couldn't belive the percentage of people that ended up with prostate cancer like 70%. scary

It is on web new sites I know yesterday. Yes I did take mine this AM. There is NO evidence that fish oil CAUSES this increase found by this one group after doing it twice. Fish oil let be get off meds that are known to cause bad things other than ringing in the ear.

"Therefore we would not encourage any man to change their diet as a result of this study, but to speak to their doctor if they have any concerns about prostate cancer."

Prostate cancer usually affects older men. PSA tests can be used to screen for prostate cancer, but the American Urological Association said in May that they do not recommend that men 55 and under do the procedure, and advise against it for men over 80 who have a life expectancy of less than 10 to 15 years. Men between 55 and 69 should talk to their doctors to see if the test is right for them. The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force submitted a similar recommendation that healthy men should not get a PSA test in 2012

oh my.. i'm taking HUGE amounts of omega's after a heart issue a couple years ago.

yikes. hmm.. heart or prostate.

don;t want to be witout either....

Not a very good risk/benefit choice. I think I'll keep taking my Omega-3 once a day and let the cards fall where they may. Regards, Mike

Wait a few months and there will be a study showing just the opposite. Studies are nothing more than researchers trying to make a name for themselves.

What are the risk factors for prostate cancer?

Sam you misread it. If the normal risk is 1% of men 70% increase would mean the risk went from 1% to 1.7% I think in the USA about 250,000 develop it each year.

While this is one study done twice by the same group it may be like the salt thing. We now read if one reduces salt intake to government recommended levels it can be dangerous. They said the same for eggs, whole milk, etc. Some of the comments below the first article covers some of these past events.
