Non Ethanol gasoline

Shell sells non-ethanal gas. It is their 'premium' gas the V-power. They advertise it on the pumps that there is no ethanal in it. Up here, anyway.

In Indiana by law all gas must contain 10% ethanol and bio in the diesel. The only exception is for off road use or if the fuel is made using Indiana Crude Oil which is less than 1%

This weekend my four wheeler, which ran like crap for a year now,ran out of gas. I added the 100LL aviation gas that I bought at the local airport. Now it runs fantastic. I had to turn the idle screw down, and it now actually idles. There are no ethanol free stations any where near here, except the airport. It is well worth the extra $1 per gallon.

We used to have that option locally but they changed it. It was good stuff! No doubt about the performance boost.

all of my vehicles are older ranging from '92-98. was there a given year when auto manufacturers started to design their fuel systems to accommodate 10% ethanol based fuel? i will check on ethanol free Shell premium down here, didn't know they did that. handy to know for all the small engines i have for my business

Based on what I learned from my brother, a pilot, the FAA will not allow ethanol blended fuel, because of potential quality issues- they don't like it for engines.. But, in many airports, the average citizen can not enter to buy fuel. Only aircraft folks. Sucks, eh?

This whole ethanol thing stinks. There are basically two basic types; one comes from sugar cane and the other corn. I just read about this in "Scientific American". Pure ethanol costs more per gallon than gasoline. Of all the liquid fuels Gasoline returns more energy per $ spent than any of the others, ethanol from sugar cane returns a little more than 1/2 as much energy per $, form an environmental stand point all ethanol takes more energy to produce than the energy it contains. Yet non-ethanol gas cost more and it comes from the same tank before they blend it. This is all about eliminating fossil fuels no matter what the cost is. Of course the rich can sustain it us poor guys are struggling with the current cost of fuel for both transportation and the sustaining a decent life style with heat and lights. I have only one source of non-ethanol gas and they want $.65 more per gallon when I factor in the Kroger rewards program. I have to struggle along with the ethanol crap. I am slowly getting rid of gas engines and switching to diesel or electricity. Next truck will be diesel. You bet I claim the rebate from state taxes on all that off-road fuel I use.

Not yet but it is coming to the Socialist State of WA I am sure as we are always close behind CA and OR. This slice of the west coast is **** bent for totalitarianism. Right now their main focus is to establish a $15 minimum wage, (one city already has) and saddle us with another 10 cent raise in the gas tax to continue feeding our failed Dept of Transportation empire. We already have a train system that has cost billions already and subsidizes the few riders to the tune of $35 on a $5 ticket.

here in Idaho theres no bio diesel. only ethanol 10%. They also have non-ethanol blends available a quite a few different stations.


and yes...Washington and Oregon should just be an extension of California...just make it one large state.

I buy the premixed gasoline [ 50.1] in red containers at the hardware store for my weedwacker,it is suppose to be ethanol free. plowking
