Use antifreeze in place of water. Pickles those little critters so they don稚 stink (as bad).

We don’t currently have any livestock on the place but we do have 13+- neutered barn cats. The local humane society has a program where you round up all your feral cats and they will defrock them for a bargan basement price. They also take a clip off the left ear to indicate non functioning reproductive anatomy.
Cat warriors work pretty well keeping the mice and chippys at Bay and the cat food is booked under farm expenses with the blessing of our CPA.

I made my first bucket trap this week, a walk the plank style. Anyone used one of these? Glad to know about the antifreeze as a water substitute. I'll try it in my out building at my property next time I go there. I'm thinking it will be a good solution since I'm not there on a regular basis to set traps. Poison works some but is far from 100% effective.

Mouse update - Soooo........ for seven months now I've had the hoods on all my vehicles open. Not a single mouse in all that time. I think is just not the exact environment they are looking for. Whatever. No mice in the passenger compartment either.
A little inconvenient but I'll gladly keep the hoods open and have no mice. There are plenty of other places in all my outbuildings where they can be happy.

Other threads all seem tractor specific so ....
Cruising down the road at 55 or so. Notice movement in the seat beside me ... mouse runs up the seat onto the B pillar and out the open window towards the roof. I can only imagine from there.
