Have located a few 3415's on the web that are low time, only a few years old and in my price range. Think one might make a good replacement for my 3 cyl. gas Ford 2000 from the late 60's. The application would be bush-hogging and light haying (60# square bales - pulling baler or haybine) on a 50 acre tree farm. Currently bush-hog with an old M5 Dixie-Cutter but hope to upgrade to an 720 Brush Bull or JD MX6. Any tillage is currently done with a sweet old Ford 4000 on 13.6x38's, but that may be in the offing as well. The old 2000 handles these jobs reasonably well, considering it only has a 4-spd. transmission.

Have never used or seen a 3415 and note that they have been discontinued. An old Spec sheet that I happened to print out awhile back suggests they are similar to a 2WD TC45 in size and power but with a much less capable hydraulic pump (6.5 vs. 9.8gpm)...probably a poor choice for a FEL.

Before taking a trip to inspect one of these tractors, I wondered if anyone could tell me if there are any problems with this model and/or things that should be looked for on a used (<1000hr) purchase. Considering only those with the 12 speed gear transmission. Would like to hear the impressions of any current owners, especially any nagging or recurrent problems.

Never posted here before, but have been lurking on & off for over a year. The depth of knowledge in this forum is impressive. Thanks.

A co-worker of mine purchased 1 of 'em new about 3 yrs ago. He love it and thus far it's been trouble free. I believe that was strictly a 2wd model at 46hp. It's a nice looking tractor and I think they sold in both the old ford and new blue. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

My dealer has had one for over a year. I seriously looked at it, but ended up getting a smaller 1720 with loader for the same money. Looks like a good tractor, I believe it was built as an ecconomy model, as you say a little lighter on the features but a solid design & sounds like it would do what you want.
