let me throw this question out there, I have aTC33d and i dont know if that will handle the smaller 758c BH versus the 759c but if it does then maybe i should go smaller so i can use on either tractor? or is the bigger 759 going to do much more work and i wouldnt be satisfied with the smaller one?

Certainly the larger hoe will accomplish more work. I guess it all depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. In terms of compatibility and such between the tractors, I would see what your dealer has to say.

I have the smallest of the BH's. The 756C cost me around $6200 2 years ago, so that should give you an idea of what the beginning of the line starts.

As far as mounting/dismounting goes, it very easy. Put the outriggers down to take weight off the rear hooks, pull two pins at the front and pull away slightly. I then lower the subfame/hoe to the ground, relieving all pressure on the lines and disconnect them. Drive away in under 5 minutes. Reverse the procedure for mounting it and provided if you line everything up right when you back over the sub-frame, it goes just as quick!

I'd just get the 759c for the bigger tractor, unless you have a specific need for a smaller setup. I do know some people who like smaller cause it lets them get in tighter locations. I haven't compared the two bh's in a while. I know that the difference in weight, price, reach and power made it a no brainer to get the 758 over the 757.

The TC55 is the same basic tractor as the 2120. I ran a 758 on my 2120 for about 15 years. It is plenty of hoe for a TC55. Personally I think a 759 is better suited to a TN class machine.

I have a TC5DA with a Woods BH-90X and it's a power house! I do have rear remotes but the dealer suggested the pump so i use it. It works excellent and takes little RPM to max the power. If I were doing it again though I'd just try the rear remotes first and see how they work, you can always go buy the PTO pump. In my opinion and experience with my tractor, I promise you though if you're going to use that hoe on a TC55 and work it very hard at all the bigger BH is the only way to go. A smaller tractor might max with the 758 but the TC55 needs a bigger BH if you want optimum performance out of your size tractor. I tried the next size down first and took it back after 5 minutes of use. I love NH tractors but I'd look hard at the Woods BH first. And it's even prettier too!!!!haha Expect to pay $10k for a good BH, subframe, and installed.

Holy moly. Andy, I've heard that said before on here, and I took it to mean that they are built on the same frame with the bigger engine in the "bigger" tractor. I just now compared specs on the two, and the 2120 has a bigger, by 3 cu. in., engine and is 300lbs. heavier. All the 55 has is more hp. probably by increasing rpms. I'm surprised that NH recommends the 759 for the 55 and not the 2120. I believe they did at one time, but when they brought back the 758, they stopped. Once again, there is steel in your words of wisdom.

As a rule of thumb and as a method of operation. The BH should be large enough to lift the rear end of the tractor and swing it over a trench. I do this alot when digging foundations. If you just want to dig a hole in the middle nowhere or in soft soil then rear weight and dipper cylinder size wont matter as much. BH-90 is a great set-up for a TC55. I have a BH-9000 on a 2120. Part of the reason for 9 or 10ft being the largest hoe is that once this is added to the tractor the entire unit weighs about 7800lbs. The max GVW of tractor and trailer allowed without a CDL is 10K. The trailer will weigh about 2k so this combination is right at the limit.

well because I will be financing and will get 2.9% through NH I will be getting a NH hoe. I doubt i will ever use it on my small tractor anyway so its a decision between the 758 and 759. i would think larger is better but price could be an issue and weight for transport is another thing. Any idea on the weight or price differences for the 2 hoes? Anybody got a picture of there 55 with a hoe?
