Hey Guys,

Was looking on e-bay for a Grapple before Thanksgiving and this looked like what we wanted to use. Not that far to ship, shipping was a bit high, they wanted to ship to a elevator near by and I made them ship to my farm. Told them I have the equipment (forks) to off load right here. Still the price came in right at $1000. We'll see how it does, I like the tine spacing of this unit. It is a 48" unit.

I'll post up better photos when it shows up, but here is a shot from their website and a link to them. The weight was around 375 lbs, I'm putting this on the T2220 (35hp) so I wanted to keep it light.

Now to order my Hyd kit:D.

Hey T & B,

Nice looking grapple. I am also looking for a 48" grapple, please post the ebay address. I am thinking that my MF will take that much weight for an after market grapple? Keep us posted about what kind and price fro your hyd kit. The grapple looks really good and strong. Was that the price without shipping? Thanks for posting the pic. KC

You can also get the Markham LD-48 for about $1000. Do a search for "Markham" for plenty of reading.

Also, posting eBay links is a no-no here on TBN.

It was $825 for the Grapple and then shipping, I ended paying about $250 for shipping, which I think was a bit high, but he said he gets charged more when its delivered to an address that is not a business.

I'm going with the WRLong Kit, I figure it will be about $600 or so.

The guy said they have sold a lot of these and I just liked the look of them. We'll see, as for e-bay I just kept watching and searching for Grapples and found this. They listed two in stock but when I called he said they will have to make mine that they sold the other two. I don't need it until spring so I said don't rush it. Did not want to see them rush the job on the short holiday week of Thanksgiving.

They were nice to talk to, we'll see the end result, pictures to come.

I've not seen that grapple before. Do you know what gauge steel was used? I ask because with eleven bottom tines and a total weight of 375lbs it seems light if made with 3/8" steel.

Morning IslandTractor,

I'm going on the blind here, I asked how tough it was and what it could do, for us we were looking for getting into a tree line and getting out brush and picking up the usual trees, maybe something about 22" diameter and cut it down using the grapple as a cuting stand.

He said they have had no problems with any of the units and they have been abused. I liked the looks of the tines and slipping under stuff to pickup. If we have a real heavy item to get I've got the 4400 lb pallet forks to use.

I figure they are light on the weights also, the web site listed just says they are about 375lbs.

I'll know more when we get them.

Hey Thumper, does the grapple have a quik-tach on it? Will a QT plate have to be added? That's about another 75#. I can't tell from the picture, but the grapple looks to be extremely useful. The addition of some gussets at the rear of the tines would make it even stronger if that ever becomes an issue. I think you're gonna like it.:)

If the tines are less than 3/8" steel I would be careful in using it for stump or rock digging but it would still work fine on brush collection and tasks that don't involve max tractor force such as digging or bulldozing. It is a little hard to judge what twice the number of light duty tines will do safely compared to standard tines. Maybe stronger maybe not. If you have a torch you can almost always bend things back too.

Hey Guys,

If you look at the home link it will take you to their web site, Jinman it does have the quick attach frame, it's not a full plate, also the website list the metal as 3/8" steel.

It says it's made of A36 steel. I'm also getting the Quick Spade shovel that mounts on the forks for digging out stumps.

I was mainly looking for something that we could put on the 35hp and get into the trees and work on brush and fallen trees.

When it gets here we will take a better look at it but I like it for what we are trying to do.

Here is a link to it's page. There are several photos from different angles there.

Thanks for reminding me to look at the link. They sure have a variety of useful products at reasonable prices.

I did notice one picture that demonstrates just how important it is to have the correct hose length on your FEL grapple. Look at the picture of the skid steer below with the tree round in the grapple. What do you think is about to happen if he curls the bucket down just a tiny bit more?;)
