Just got concrete poured yesterday after having a gravel floor for 3 years. Everything turned out great except for 2 feet at the end of the garage door where the finishers didn't get it even by about an inch so I have a decent gap for 2 feet under the door. Tried a different seal and that didn't work, looking for creative ideas on making up about 1 inch of space the last 2 ft of a 16ft garage door. I could glue down some sort of weather stripping but wanted to see what suggestions you all had to seal the door all the way day.

thanks

I bought aluminum garage door threshold on ebay and put mortar under it. Cheapest place I could find it. Its expensive some places.

tj, thanks did you have a similar issue to mine where the concrete didn't get perfectly leveled at one end. Overall the barn looks great I have no issues gluing something down if it seals and keeps rodents out Thanks for your reply

He was out this afternoon didn't sound like there was anything from a concrete point that can be done It Is only an area 2ft wide by 3 inches across and falls right at the edge of the door closure everything else is level. Everything has been sealed . I wish there was something that could be done but haven't come across info

My house was built that way in 88. I put new door up myself and wanted it level.

So when I had my floor poured, we discussed doors and expectations. When the floor was poured I was gone and someone else not in the mix formed it so I had a 2 " gap under my slider. The company is the go to company where I live and does great work. Then this. We discussed options and they came out, drilled in to existing slab and poured 2 aprons which was really nicer than having none in the plan to begin with. The moral of the story is that it is THEIR responsibility to make this right. If they have to cut back and re pour so your door seals and extend it out for stability then that is what they should step up and do.

Absolutely, unless you have a contract that lets them off the hook or no written contract. If all you did was buy labor you don't have a leg to stand on as you were the prima facia contractor. Verbal contracts are not what they were 30 years ago.

Pictures would help. What kind of door? Roll up? Segmented? Can you attach a tapered-to-fit bottom edge to the door that the seal sits on?

If the pour is less than 24 hours old (48 now), they (or you) should be able to add a bit to it and have it bond well. Once it cures, that will be far less possible.

But the apron idea isn't bad as it would give them another reason to come back out.
