need large culvert in central ohio

I am having trouble finding 10ft-12ft round culvert supplier.
I have a creek that I have to cross. The county used a 10ft. diameter bolt a plate culvert to cross the road about 1/2 mile
down sream of my land. that being said I would like to match that size so that hopefully it will last a long time. I have had touble finding that size, and thought that maybe someone one this vast network might be able to help.

Is it actually a county drain that prevents you from gaining access to the rest of your land? If so the county drain commish should help.

Hi there, I have the same problem. I havent looked very hard for a culvert yet, but I need one about the same size as that for a creek crossing in Florida. If you have any luck finding one, Id love to hear the details.

How do you plan on setting up the road?

I have a county map and on it it is a named creek. I sent an email to the one from Portsmith, Ohio and will try to call the other later. We bought the land last march. If I don't get across the creek and get the house started under costuction before june-july the boss is going to be very angry, then I will never get my tractor.

You don't have the cash to buy a new one. You are looking for a used one that was removed. Chech with your county, surrounding townships, any state highway folks nearby. Check with your scap dealer. Check with any places that have 25 acres of farm, car, & other junk piled up. Railroads used them, check with any abandoned lines, etc. Check with any major or minor construction companies.

Shipping costs a lot, distance counts. Look locally.

When they took out the 12' metal culvert on our county road & replaced it with a 12' concrete one, we bough 1/2 of the old one. $900. That was 20 years ago. Good luck.

That sounds like a biiiiig pipe. Have you considered a bridge instead?

I thought about a box culvert bridge, but i talked to the local precast companyand they want 11,500.00 just to deliver it and set it in place. excavation and gravel extra. I am just trying to figure out a cheaper way to do it.

do like the old farmers did and find yourself a gas tank that just came out of the ground at some old abandonned gas station.. Of course, make sure it is signed off clean.. When tanks are pulled, an environmental person should be standing there as it happens,, They can also declare it clean if in fact it really is.. anyway,, those old 7-10 gallon steel tanks are just right for crossing creeks.. We had 130 acres outside Ironton many years ago and the tanks work awesome.. You will have to build some kind of headwall and obviously fill over the tank with good gravel
