Anyone have one or know if there is anything compatible I can buy at a local auto parts store. I tried to install a mechanical guage but could not get it to thread into the place the original was. Thanks.

Take your old sender with you to match the threads. You can get an adapter for the mechanical guage or get the parts man to match up the sender to a new one.

I took the old sensor with me to the auto parts store and they gave me what looked like one that should have worked. It will not screw in either. The original must be just a hair smaller is the only thing I can imagine. I am hoping someone can come up with a part number. Thanks for the reply

Should be 1/8" NPT, so maybe (if you have a NPT tap) you could chase/clean the threads.

Then again why not simply re-tap for 1/8" NPT?
(hold a magnet near the hole to capture/prevent any filings from entering the engine)

Person from Valley Power says he is sending me a manual gauge with an adapter that is supposed to work. I have not gotten it yet. you may want to call them. It was $25.
