Need a bigger tractor...thoughts on JD 1070

I purchased 6 month ago a YM2210 with FEL but did not go for a 4x4. I regret this deeply because I get constantly stuck on my property. I am looking into trading the Yanmar in and possibly get a John Deere 1070 4x4 with a 440 loader. It is a '94 tractor with 430 hrs on it. The dealer is asking $13k. Is this a good price? Anything I need to know about the 1070's? Anything to watch out for?

Also - what would be a good trade in price I can get for the YM2210. It was purchased at RCO Tractor in Austin, UDTA certified, Koyer 80 new loader w/ 4 ft bucket. Since the complete recondition in Austin I put 60 hrs on it. I really like the Yanmar but can not afford to get stuck all the time.

That's pretty low hours for a 16 year old 1070.
Pretty basic tractor. Should do you quite well.
And, $13K isn't too bad a price. I expect it'll sell pretty fast.

Great tractor and that's a darn good price for a machine with that many hours. Although, I'd do a little digging to determine if those are actual hours... Might have a new hour meter.

All synchro transmission (except range) which makes loader work a snap (for a gear tractor). Lot's of power for it's size and weight - and could benefit from loaded tires.

Loader is QA and is very comparible to the later model's 430 and 300CX loaders in capability.

IMHO - I think it's a better tractor than the 4005 - on the basis of the tranny; alone.
