I have been having trouble with the safety switches on my treadle and also the seat switch. With the PTO's disengaged it will kill the engine if I go up or down a grade or even shifting my weight on the seat. Then the treadle got off center and that would make starting it a real PITA. It died about a half mile from my barn the other day and I could not get it started. I went back to the house and brought my truck back so I could unload my chain saw and a bunch of other stuff. Then right before I was ready to go back home, I tried it again and it started.

They sent a rollback down to pick it up yesterday and it died 3 times while going up the ramp. The driver said "I don't think they'll have any problem figuring this out".

Sorry to hear your woes. Hopefully, as the driver said, it should be easy to troubleshoot once they get it in the service bay.

Probably the hst safety switch. Has been a problem.

They brought my tractor back yesterday. Everything was covered under warranty, but there was no paper work to show what they did. However they did repair the issues I had. And as a bonus I have a new issue. I put the tractor in the barn, and went out later to catch up on my mowing. It started right up, I moved it about 3 feet and it just died. It started right back up moved about a foot, and died again. Started right back up and almost got to the overhead door and died again. The throttle was not advanced, but the RPM's were normal at about 1078.

After that it started and ran fine while I mowed and again after I refilled the diesel. I have to go out later after the grass dries, and start mowing again, if it continues that nonsense I'll call the dealer.:(

Sorry, but that sounds about right for this day and age. I would try and fix something simple myself before taking it to a dealer.

I had the same issue with my B2650. It died when I was 1/4 mile back in the woods. I could not get it started until I bypassed the switch. The switch that under the HST pedal has to be set such the machine thinks it’s in neutral. What I did was cut the switch out and jumper the wires. If the pedal is in reverse or forward the switch should go open. The range of when it is closed is small. If it is open at all, the tractor will not start. After getting it back to my shop, I ordered a new switch. I think it was $35.

Seems like it would have been better for them to have put a switch on the range selector and require that be in neutral rather than the pedal.

it's got a switch also + several others to find when they don't work

Ha, I hadn't gotten through my owner's manual yet but wondered about that. Mine will start with the range selector in gear. My old BX23 did not.

As I said in my post above this was covered under warranty and didn't cost me a penny. From looking under the tractor it looks like they replaced the treadle damper assy and the safety switch for it. They also topped off my freon as I told them that is wasn't cooling as good as it used to. They've been very good to deal with so far. They sent a guy down to adjust my mower deck right after I bought it when I told them that it was set up wrong. They also picked up my tractor and brought it back this time, so I didn't have to load it up on my trailer.

I'll be 71 next month and my old bones and joints aren't near as flexible as they used to be. So crawling around on the floor isn't near as easy as it was a few years ago.:grumpy:

BTW I didn't have any issues with it dying after those initial times.
