Mower Size Recommendation on XG3135H

I am purchasing a new XG3135H and getting some new implements. I am wanting to get a rear bush mower and box blade. To get coverage over the tires it looks like it will take a 6 foot mower but I'm concerned it will be too much for the PTO power. Anyone have any personal experience with this setup?

I have an XG3037 and decided to go with a 5' mower and blockade. Most folks, including implement dealers, recommended limiting my heavy duty implements to the 5' range for my size tractor. Works well for me.

30 PTO hp is enough to run a 6' mower as long as your not expecting to mow 5 ft tall grass/weeds.

The 3135s have 28HP at the PTO. While that's not quite enough to meet the "widely accepted" requirement of 5HP/ft, you'd probably do fine with a 6' mower ... so long as you're not trying to cut really dense grass or large sapplings.

I went with a less expensive 5' mower, as I only have 2-1/2 acres of pasture to mow.

I have the 5' Bush Hog razorback on my XG3135H. It comes within about 3" of the edge of the tires. It's not a big deal unless you are trying to get really close to buildings or fences.

5ft. I wouldn't take a chance on not enough PTO hp. vs gaining 12" more cutting width. You may have warranty issues if something should break.

My manual has a page on recommend max width on implements listed by type. Using that as a guide should keep you in warranty.

Looking at a 3135H as a possible replacement for my 1720. What does the manual say about the mower size? I have a 6 ft king kutter I use with my Ford. How do you like your 3135?? Any problems with pto power?

I have a boomer 24 (new holland). It delivers what 18 pto hp. I pull a 5 foot hog just fine. The "conventional wisdom" says I should go. 4 ft. Well if the weeds are too tall I just slow down or take a 3/4 bite. So if I was constantly going to max the mower out it might be an issue.

I have the older 3000 series XR3037HC. All 3 pt attachments I have are 6' with the exception of my snowblower which is 7'. 6' attachments will work fine on your XG3135. If buying used attachments I have found used 5' attachments more readily available.
