I seem to have a problem.... I can never leave anything stock, I always seem to want to modify almost everything I have to get more power. All of our vehicles have a min of cold air intakes and exhaust systems, up to our F350 Power Stroke Diesel that is putting down over 425hp at the rear wheels.

So that brings me to the question, can I mod my L3600GST to get more HP?

I don't need more HP, the tractor does a great job with everything that I ask it to do. But more is always better, right:D

Warranty is not an issue, the tractor is a 97, so it was out of warranty years ago...

On tractors HP is almost irrelevant, torque is the most useful thing.

You will eventually figure out how bad of an idea that is...
It may take a while, but eventually you will break enough good stuff to realize it....

I have to agree with Kenny, while I always have been modifying my vehicles ( what about a 69 Mustang with as dry-sumped, all aluminum engine, 750hp, 620lbs), tractors are a different story, everything is designed to work together as a package, from the gearing, hydraulic pump flow, cylinders sizes,,etc, that just getting more HP do not make any sense.
If you think that a 3600 is "not enough" tractor for you, get a different model.

as for me I have a Grand L2900 with a 480 FEL and I have not find a situation yet were HP, instead of traction was an issue

You don't have a lot of room to mess with these small engines. You can turn the fuel up a bit and maybe gain a hp or 2, you can also increase the high idle as most these engines are multi use and have a broad rpm range. That might get you a hp. Aside from a turbo charger there is very little to get out of these things that won't give you trouble later on.
Best advice for more power......get a bigger tractor.......oh right then it won't be big enough.:ashamed: I have the same problem. You just have to live with it:confused2:

What are you going to do with the extra Hp? Once the drive wheels slip, bend a rod, PTO shaft and gears break you will be spending a ton of $$$ to repair or replace the tractor.
I hear that you can get a Saturn 5 rocket engine at salvage yards cheep.
Go take some Valium and cool your jets.

OK, thanks for the input guys. I didn't know how much you could or couldn't tinker with this little motors. I guess I will just leave everything the way it is.
