Mitsubishi Dozer BD2H, needs a new engine

Ok Folks,
I've got a Mitsubishi Dozer that my Dad loves to clear brush with. He's 73 and still going strong, like a lot of Marines do. My problem is after our long hot Texas summer, we noticed too much blow by, the rings were shot. The repair shop says the cylinders would probably need more than .020" to clean them up, and two cylinders have heavy ring grooves. It's looking like our only option would be to sleeve it and total overhaul. It may be be better to just buy a new engine. I am having trouble finding one. Does anyone know where I might find on? Is there a way to change over to an American made motor?

Maybe a Perkypilliar simialir to the engines in Cat, ASV CTL's etc,should be plenty of parts for them to keep your dad in the seat until he's over a 100 years old.
I used to operate a Mitzi dozer years ago a BH2B with a PAT blade

Yanmar, Isuzu comes to mind. Do you know what size/bolt circle the flywheel housing is?
How hard did you look?

Sleeve it and have the head redone. Buying used is always a gamble

It appears that the engine in your dozer may be an S4S. That is apparently the same as in the current Mitsubishi rubber tracked agriculture tractors. Call these guys: Valley Power with the model number and so forth and see if they can help you with engine parts. Another resource might be Len Sheaffer, who is a member of this board, posting as lens12.
