Mice in my Kioti

One caution with poison is that the mice wander off to die and can be eaten by owls and other predators that are in turn killed.

I use cotton balls soaked in pure peppermint oil. Mice HATE peppermint oil and will avoid the smell at all costs. (It has to be pure peppermint oil.) I put a few balls in the engine compartment of each tractor, and in the cab of the Kioti and under the seat of the Kubota.

I also use a battery powered rodent repeller under the hood of each tractor and in the cab of my Kioti.

The combination of the peppermint oil and the electronic repellers has worked so far. I started using this method when I found a mouse had built a nest on top of the fuel tank (near the filler neck) of my Kioti.

I park my tractors & trucks on 3/4 inch road base and just spread some diesel underneath. The diesel soaks in but continues to 'reek'. If parking on a surface that you want to stay 'un-blemished' then pour some diesel into a pan or open-top can and pour in some diesel and set it underneath. Cotton balls or the like (Q-tips) doused with diesel will keep the little varmints out of cabs, etc. BUT you gotta be able to accept the smell yourself! :laughing:
