Does anyone have experience using a MF 1260 or AGCO ST40x (equivalent tractors) to move large (5x6 or 6x6) round bale hay? I know that bale weight varies depending on moisture, tightness, etc. so for the purpose of discussion let's say that the bale weight is 1500-1800 lbs.

Can the FEL handle this weight for limited use or will the bales have to be moved using the rear lift for this size tractor.

I have a 1260; I move a lot of good size logs a bolders using a heavy duty grapple with no problem. As dieselbeef notes above, be sure to counter weight with something heavy on the back.

The 1260 will handle a 4x4 and lighter 4x5. Anything larger you can't lift. This is with the loader.
