Messer 80T-AC plus, test results.

We don't have Menards here. And my local Ace only carries Forney rod. I'll look around for other places that may carry the US Forge brand.

Does the US Forge equivalent to Messer also use the same 80T-AC designation?

The U.S Forge brand is a sleeper. I'm not sure about how they compare with the premium rods like exaclibur, but I was welding with 5/32 7014 yesterday in the US forge brand stably at 100-110 amps and hitting the sweet spot at 125. I was using the new PowerArc 200 and the arc was jumping from the end it seemed. No tapping, no scratching. Instant light. Smooth weld and flux flaking off right behind it.

No the US Forge version will not carry the 80T-AC designation that is exclusive to the Messer brand. That said, If you happen to go to the Messer site and the US Forge site you will see their address is the same and their factory address is the same.

I am only guessing that the US Forge number of 01621 for 3/32" diameter or 01631 for the US Forge is the same as the 80T-AC since it would not make sense for a common factory to make two blue in color rods with the same specs yet with different ingredients.
