Looking for one now.
I recently purchased a 4530 with the Mahindra ML245 loader. My only previous experience was a small Kubota. I find it difficult to use the loader and even thought something was wrong with the hydraulics. I can not raise the bucket and tilt it at the same time. This even more noticable since I bought a pallet fork setup for the loader. It is very hard to use the forks, I have to stop raising to level the load on the forks.
After several calls to various places, I found out that Mahindra only uses 4 position loader controls, not 8 position like the Kubota I was used to using. The Kubota was much smother to operate as you can tilt and raise at the same time.
Any comments about this or suggestion how to convert over to an 8 position control??

Hey Denis,
I bought my 4530 new in 2007 and it has the ML245 loader also. I don't know anything about hydraulics, but although the directional decal only shows six positions including float and fast dump, mine has more positions. For example on page 27 of the loader manual it shows:

Number 1 Position= Raise loader (Joystick down)
Number 4 Position= Roll back attachment(Joystick left)

If I pull the joystick in between position 1 and 4 (down and to the left), my loader raises and my attachment rolls (tilts) at the same time. Same with down and to the right, up and to the left, up and to the right. There seems to be settings in between the settings if that makes any sense. Like I said, I know nothing about hydraulics and if someone wants to chime in, please do. However, my ML245 loader will raise and tilt and lower and tilt at the same time.

Hope this helps,
Mud

Denis,
I just wanted you to know that I have been talking to some of the Prince people about this and some of it has to do with using a series valve as compared to parallel valve. I think if you try the 45 degree position when going down, you will find that it will work as you want it to, but it will not work when going up. This is a charactoristic of the series valve as it feeds the up down spool first and then doesn't have enough umpf to also work the tilt at the same time. When you are going down you have gravity helping so it does work when going down. A parallel valve feeds both spools from a common sump inside the valve. The downfall of this valve is some of your lifting capacity is compromised. I haven't gotten all of the answers yet, but I am working on trying to find a parallel valve which is a direct swap out.

Galen,

I am sure you are finding this difficult too. From the last call from you I was told that Prince did not make a parallel valve in that line. That was a very good explanation though!

Wow might this be an upgrade that Mahindra/KMW is going to send off to owners that complain. :D

LMAO The key was the fact that there is no known simple upgrade as Prince does not make a parallel in that style valve. But I will throw u some POINTS for trying ;)

Update on the joy stick issue. I was playing around with my tractor today and found I could get the forks to till and raise at the same time. However, it is a hit or miss thing. There is no detent for this position and the control is very, very poor. Sure would be nice to have the 8 position valve.

Denis,
If you understood my explanation, you will realize, the heavier your load the less likely the double operation will work for you.

Hello Galen,

When I use my ML245 it will raise and tilt at the same time although slowly. Are you saying with a full bucket of dirt, my ML245 won't have that ability?

Mud,
I have been selling Mahindra tractors for 6 1/2 years now and have never had this issue brought up to me, before Denis brought up the issue. So I then looked into it and this is how it was explained to me. The more resistance recieved from the up down movement the less power will be left to do the curl movement, if you are trying to do them at the same time. So yes that should be true.
