Hi everyone,
I think after 7 years I might have done the unthinkable, I ran my tractor out of diesel and now it wont start. I'll tell you now, I am not very mechanical, but I can turn a wrench when I need to.
To make a long story short, my gauges quit working about a year or so after I bought the tractor new. So I have always been pretty good about putting 5-10 gallons of fuel in her when needed. Well after being snowed in, iced in and just down right cold and blowing, the weather gave and I had a good day to get out and do some work.
Just about the time I was finished I was heading down the drive and I noticed a couple puffs of blue smoke coming from the exhaust, then a couple more and then the tractor died before I could get it back to the barn. I figured it was out of fuel. I put in 10 gallons and tried to crank her and nothing...not even a puff of smoke. So I broke out the book and found where I could break loose the banjo and open the primer pump and pump fuel until it came out the banjo nut. I put that back together and still nothing. I am lost from here on...the book doesnt describe anything else except the fuel nozzles and I dont know where those are. I tried a couple sprays of starting fluid and that didnt even kick her off.
Could use some help here if you know of something that I need to do to make sure the air is out. Other than that...hopefully its nothing beyond a fuel issue.
Thanks
